A pillar collapsed...

Shocking as was the news of Pramod Mahajan being shot by his brother... it is distressing to know that Pramod Mahajan has unfortunately succumbed to bullet injuries... and India has lost a prominent politician.
Prominent figures and personalities may be granted a high grade security but who would suspect the evil snakes amongst the family?
Enraged!

Valid point, and valid rage - young politicians are what this country needs. Sadly, we cannot help such situations. It will be interesting to see the reasons behind this incident.

Also, we must remember to _stop_ saying only good things about dead people, esp politicians - what I mean is that it will be interesting to see this incident in a neutral manner and face all the dirt that the investigation throws up.

bests,

Interesting but I'd say a bit strange observation.. though definitely fair! Sometimes, the mind is naturally biased and 'pro' the deceased. However, even if viewed neutrally I would say that the incident was bad and further, a crime was committed (irrespective of what the investigation brings into light .. the brother may be proved mad, he might have been deprived and disgraced all his life.. and so on).

He must be having security cover. But no one frisks the family members. Infact that buiding had so many prominent people living there, ex chief minister and ministers. But what is strange is he walked easily out of the buiding after firing, his gun was not silenced as far as I know. (Its a different matter that he went to the police station later).
